Paul Lester

Gaffney, SC - - William Paul Lester, 77, of 101 Park Court, formerly of 1386 Pleasant School Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Viva Senior Living.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Frances Kay Blalock Lester and son of the late William Thurlow Lester and Hattie Lee Garner Lester. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, retired from Timken, a S. C. National Guard member, and a member of Central Baptist Church. He loved his family, fishing, was very mechanical and loved working with his hands.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Jeff Lester (Karla) of Greer and Mark Lester (Katie) of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Wilma Scruggs of Simpsonville; three grandchildren, Brandon Lester, Brianna Lester and Taylor Lester; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Turner and two brothers-in-law, Reverend Wilton Scruggs and Jimmy Turner.

The family will receive friends from 2:00PM until 3:00PM on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clay Jones officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
