Wayne Walker

Gaffney, SC - - Wayne Leotus Walker, 81, of 470 White Plains Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 29, 2024 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late William Henry Walker and Ina Keller Byers and stepson of the late Clyde Byers. He retired from construction and was of the Holiness faith.  He loved his family, gardening, flowers, had a "green thumb" and loved to drink coffee.

He is survived by two sons, Bobby Walker and Brian Walker, both of Gaffney; two daughters, Linda Erwin of the home and Brenda Perez (Gerardo) of Rutherfordton; three brothers, Gene Walker, Charles Byers and Freddie Byers (Jackie), all of Gaffney; a sister, Judy Scoggins of Gaffney; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Marshall Wayne Walker, three brothers, Edward Byers, Ben Byers and Leroy Walker, two sisters, Evelyn Ireland and Shirley Parker, and a great-grandchild, Jaliyah Walker.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Blakely Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Scott Suttle and Reverend Grady Gregory officiating.  Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
