Vickie Blackwell

Gaffney, SC - - Vickie Hughey Blackwell, 75, of 134 Ben's Farm Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with illness, at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Paul H. Blackwell and daughter of the late Howard Hughey and Sue Smith Hughey.  She was self-employed in bookkeeping and taxes and was a member of Cherokee Creek Baptist Church. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and painting.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Adrienne Starnes (Michael) of Beaumont, TX and Anita Heather Feerer (Daniel) of Conway; two sisters, Kay Pearson (Ricky) of Gaffney and Sandra Bryant (Dick) of Greensboro, NC; three grandchildren, Vance Feerer, Clay Feerer and Jordyn Feerer; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church.  Memorial services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM at the Church with Dr. Daryle Hawthorne officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Vickie's honor to: Cherokee Creek Baptist Church, 501 Buck Shoals Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.
