Velvet Denise Foster

Boiling Springs, SC - - A beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend departed from this earth for another land, "A city which hath foundations whose builder and maker is God" (Hebrews 11:10).

Velvet Denise Foster was born on January 20, 1973 in Gaffney, South Carolina to Dean Allen and the late Brenda Sue Allen. Velvet entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 18, 2023 in Gaffney, SC.

Velvet attended public schools in Gaffney, SC, graduating from Gaffney High School in 1991. She worked in quality control several years, most recently at AFL Duncan. She deeply loved her family and friends and had a strong love for God. She grew up attending church. She was most recently a member of New Generation Harvest Church.

Though Velvet lived a very private life, she lived out loud for God and her family and friends. She enjoyed listening to the Word and sharing the good news with those who were nearby. She dressed in bright colors that resonated with her glowing smile and radiant personality.

She will continue to be remembered by everyone she encountered along her life's journey, including but not limited to her devout loved ones. Velvet is survived by three sons, Jamarcus De'leon Foster, Allen Charron Williams Jr., and Emmanuel Charrod Williams; a Goddaughter, Victoria Logan; six grandchildren, Jaydon Foster, Layla Foster, Jeremiah Foster, Emmanuel Bonner, Ashton Williams, and Cayden Williams; eight sisters, Sandra (Scott) Mitchell, Deana Allen, and Shondrell Tanisha (Marcelino) Leon, Daffney Bonner, and Victoria (Todd) Dowdle-McIntosh, Jayonna Shippy, Kayla Allen and Kirby Allen; five nieces, Dalisha La'shay Foster, Anjiyah Straucy-Ajarra Schenck, Na'Loni Namoni-Ruth McDaniel, Zyocrria Huskey, and Brittney Dowdle, and two special nieces, Asiaon Por'shay Foster and Al'valon Je'keria Allen; eight nephews, Jarrett Schenck, Jarrius Schenck, ShaQuille Allen, Ken'tavious Epps, Marcelino Leon, Courvoisia Allen, Rahiem Huskey, and Fabin Woods; and three special cousins, Reginald Foster, Shamika Foster Ellis, and Deunica Foster; and a host of aunts, uncles, in-laws, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00AM until 12:00PM on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Blakely Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vincent Logan, Sr., Pastor Curtis Carter and Apostle Jerome Tomblin officiating.  Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
