Thomas George, Sr.

Gaffney, SC - - Thomas Edward George, Sr., 78, of 355 Little Egypt Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of the late JoAnn Keller George and son of the late John Pittman George, Sr. and Margaret Campbell George. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, a graduate of Spartanburg Technical College, retired from Timken, and a U. S. Army Veteran. He loved his family, fishing and enjoyed sports.

Surviving is a special niece, Mary Wyatt (Tracy) of Gaffney; a special family friend and like a son, David Waugh of the home; numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Edward George, Jr., a brother, Johnny George, and a sister, Elizabeth Painter.

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 1:45PM on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will immediately follow at 2:00PM in Frederick Memorial Gardens with Reverend Tommy Wright officiating.
