Doug Owensby

Gaffney, SC - - Thomas Douglas "Doug" Owensby, 64, of 148 Tansi Trail, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Cherokee Medical Center.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of the late Peggy Dianne Harris Owensby and son of the late David Fate Owensby and Gladys Odell Manis Owensby.  He retired from Kohler and was of the Baptist faith.  He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed racing and fishing.

Surviving is a son, Larry Owensby (Hope Rollins) of Gaffney; a daughter, Lisa Schwendner of Gaffney; three brothers, Roger Owensby of Pacolet, Danny Owensby of Spartanburg and Jimmy Owensby (Louise) of Pacolet; a sister, Shirley Smith (Paul) of Spartanburg; seven grandchildren, Serenity Owensby, Thomas Owensby, Aydain Ingle, Jayze Blackwell, Carson Owensby, Noah Owensby and Piper Owensby; numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hank Owensby and a grandson, Blake Owensby.

No services are scheduled.
