Suzanne Wylie

Gaffney, SC - - Suzanne Pearl Wilkins Wylie, 80, of Blue Ridge in Brookview House, formerly of 125 Spring Valley Road, Gaffney, SC, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026.

Born in Blacksburg, SC on August 20, 1945, to Fred Simmons Wilkins, Sr. and Sara Lewis Westbrook Wilkins, her family were lifelong members of St. John's United Methodist Church in Blacksburg, South Carolina.

Suzanne graduated from Blacksburg High School in 1963, and continued her education at Limestone College.

On July 11, 1964, she married her high school sweetheart, James Reginald Wylie, Sr.  Suzanne and Reg worked together as she supported their business endeavors, Wylie Pontiac Buick GMC, and later Reg Wylie Realty, Inc.  She was a longtime member of Buford Street United Methodist Church.  Suzanne was generous and compassionate, and her family was her greatest treasure.

Suzanne is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Reginald Wylie, Sr., a daughter, Karen Wylie Earp (Brett) and a son, James "Jamie" Reginald Wylie, Jr.  She has three grandchildren:  Catherine Earp, Benson Earp (Amy), and Austin Wylie.

She is also survived by a brother, Fred S. Wilkins, Jr. (Rebecca), sister, Alice Elaine Wilkins Phillips (Ben), brother, William "Bill" S. Wilkins (Cathy), a sister-in-law, Jane Bridges Wilkins; numerous nieces and nephews.

Suzanne was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Robert Lewis Westbrook and Alice Waulla Elliott Westbrook and her paternal grandparents, Talmadge DeWitt Wilkins, Sr. and Pearl Simmons Wilkins, her parents, Sara and Fred Wilkins, her brother, Don Lewis Wilkins, and two sisters-in-law, Carol Moorhead Wilkins and Harriet Riddle Wilkins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers for their exceptional love and care, Ashlee, April, Diann and others.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dave Nichols officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Buford Street United Methodist Church, 120 E. Buford Street, Gaffney, SC 29340.

The family will be at the residence, 125 Spring Valley Road, Gaffney.
