Shirley Addis

Spartanburg, SC - - Shirley Jones Addis, formerly of Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of the late Terry Kent Addis and the daughter of the late Harold Jones and Bonnie Shell Jones. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School, was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, enjoyed dancing, especially shagging and loved her family. Mrs. Addis was retired from Cherokee Finishing, where she was the assistant to the Plant Manager and a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church.

Surviving is a son, Van Addis (Tammy) of Chesnee; a daughter, Kim Brown (Randy) of Spartanburg; a sister, Faye Porter of Fort Mill; three grandchildren, Abbey Bedenbaugh (Jamey), Casey Jones (Brad) and Zac Addis; three step-grandsons, Heath Brown (Valeen), Tyler West (Carmony) and Matt West; five great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Addis was preceded in death by three brothers, Steve "Scoobie" Jones, Shell Jones and Richard Jones; a sister, Marion "MurMur" Potts.

Casual Memorial Services will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Morrow, III and Dr. Clyde Thomas officiating.
