Scott Blanton

Gaffney, SC - - Scott Blanton, 79, of 317 Sarratt School Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 26, 2024 at his home.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Ila Jane Porter Blanton and the son of the late Lloyd Blanton Sr. and Velma Phillips Blanton. He served in the United States National Guard and was the proud owner/operator of Blanton Brothers Masonry. Mr. Blanton was a member of Love Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, also surviving are his children, Brian Scott Blanton of Gaffney, Kimberly Renea McSwain of Gaffney, Paula Blanton Collins of Washington and  Derek Pruitt (Erica) of Gaffney; two brothers, Gary Blanton and Donald Blanton, both of Gaffney; three sisters, Joyce Wood of Gaffney; Margaret Porter (Jimmy) of Gaffney and Betty Cash (Barry) of Cowpens; five grandchildren, Magen Blanton, Logan McSwain, David McSwain, Emma Collins and Mason Collins; two very special great-grandchildren raised in the home, Jayden  Blanton and Grayson Wilkie; numerous great-grandchildren. Mr. Blanton was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd "Rocky" Blanton Jr. and Jerry Blanton; and a sister, Dyan Blanton. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agape Hospice for their exceptional love and care.

The family will receive friends from 1:30PM until 3:00PM on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Love Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00PM at the church with Dr. Ron Culbertson and Dr. Terry Duvall officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
