Ronnie Ellis

Spartanburg, SC - - Ronnie Dean Ellis, 62, of 429 Fairmont Avenue, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026 at his residence.

Born in Shelby, NC, he was the husband of Rosemary Traxler Ellis and the son of the late Joe Perry Ellis and Evelyn Jeanette Thrift Ellis. He was a bass player and a lifelong musician. Mr. Ellis was retired from Bondtex and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, also surviving are two daughters, Marie Aku (Jason) and Brenda Marcelino (Michael), both of Spartanburg; a brother, Tommy Ellis of Cliffside, NC; four grandchildren, Phillip Craig, Nicholas Aku, Aubrey Mercado and Lauryn McCray; nine great-grandchildren; two nieces, Lindsey Ellis and Leslie Ellis; and a great-niece, Ava Ellis. Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Ellis.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family will be at their respective homes.
