Rodney Camp

Gaffney, SC - - William Rodney Camp, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Teresa Sanlin Camp and the son of the late William "Billy" and Anne Petty Camp. He was retired from Duke Power after 30 years of service. Rodney was an exceptional athlete growing up playing Football, Baseball, Basketball and Track at Gaffney High School, where he was a valuable member of several State Championship teams and was later inducted into the Gaffney High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He went on to attend North Greenville Junior College on a baseball scholarship and also played basketball. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Cherokee National Golf and Recreational Club, where he held the course record for the lowest score for many years. Mr. Camp was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, also surviving are two sisters, Billie Ann Goforth of Gaffney and Debbie White (Rick) of Boiling Springs; a step-son, Tony Sanders; three step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00PM until 3:00PM on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Chapel with Reverend Harold Johnson and Mr. Justin Williamson officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be: The Gaffney High School Football Team of Class of 1963.

The family will be at their respective homes.
