Gene Waters

Spartanburg, SC - - Robert Eugene "Gene" Waters, 87, of 325 Hope Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 16, 2024 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Fred Waters and Novella Blackwell Waters.  He was the retired owner/operator of Waters Trucking, a U. S. Navy veteran and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  He loved his family and was an avid health enthusiast.

Surviving is a daughter, Novella Springer (Greg) of Spartanburg; a stepson, Joseph Johnson (Karen) of Arizona; a brother, Wilbur Waters of Gaffney; a sister-in-law, Joanie Waters of N. Hollywood, CA; four grandchildren, Jessica Boldroft (Steven), Jillian Veloz, Ashley Belcher (Dan) and Dominick Trapani; three great grandchildren, Brandon, Skylar and Grayson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Waters and David Waters and five sisters, Brenda Rutledge, Blanch Porter, Vivian Greene, Frances Allison and Linda Orr.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home.  Memorial services will immediately follow at 12:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes.
