Robert Coyle

Gaffney, SC - - Robert Thomas Coyle, 81, of 501 Cherokee National Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Frances Davidson Coyle and the son of the late Oliver E. Coyle Sr. and Marie Smalley Coyle. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School and Spartanburg Community College. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and antique cars. He also was an avid golfer and a long-time member of Cherokee National Golf Club. Mr. Coyle was retired from The Timken Company, where he worked as an analyst. He was a member of Grassy Pond Baptist Church, where he served as a choir member and loved his Fellowship Sunday School class.

In addition to his wife, also surviving is a daughter, Jennifer Coyle of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Coyle was preceded in death by a brother, Oliver E. Coyle Jr.; and a sister, Jean Coyle High.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Mark Gregory and Reverend Martin Hogg officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
