Riley Waters

Myrtle Beach, SC - - Riley Edward Waters, 73, of 962 Southpark Drive and formerly of Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Grand Strand Medical Center.

Born in Asheville, NC, he was the husband of Linda Harris Waters and son of the late Riley McDuffie Waters and Virginia Hill Waters. He was a graduate of Greenville Technical College, retired as a mechanical engineer from Core Mechanical, a United States Navy Veteran and a member of Encounter Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Christopher Seth Waters of Gaffney; a daughter, Aimee Waters of Greenville; a step-daughter, Kathleen Gallman (Mark) of Gaffney; a sister, Carrie Elizabeth Alman of Clyde, NC; six grandchildren, Megan Gallman Robertson (Matt), Krystan Gallman Smith (Cody), Colton Simmons, Emily Grace Waters, Elyse Thompson and Evan Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Lyla and Arya.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Waters, a step-son, Christopher Simmons, and a step-grandson, Lane Simmons.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 in Frederick Memorial Gardens with Reverend George Shaw officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
