Richard Dean Jones

Gaffney, SC - - Richard Dean Jones, 62, of 104 Hillside Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Lisa Vassey Jones and son of the late Lawrence Jones and Mildred Godfrey Jones.  He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, retired from Spectrum, and of the Baptist faith.  He loved his family and was an avid Dallas Cowboys, S.C. Gamecocks, Gaffney Indians and NASCAR fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Nate Jones (fiancée Chloe Phillips) of Gaffney; three daughters, Tamara Cobb (Drew), Staci Bright (Brandon) and Danika Jones, all of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Paislee Bright, Jagger Cobb, Kingston "Toot" Upton, Hendrix Cobb, Major Neal and Boston Cobb; one expected grandchild; two brothers-in-law, Al Vassey (Barbara) and Donnie Vassey (Becky), both of Gaffney; two sisters-in-law, Jennifer Parker (Allen) and Kim Jones, both of Gaffney; numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Bill Jones.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Kirby Church. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 PM at the Church with Reverend Will Vergara officiating.
