Richard "Dick" Miles

Gaffney, SC - - Richard Blake "Dick" Miles, 86, of 128 Sheraton Loop, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.

Born in Charleston, West Virginia, he was the husband of Brenda Williams Miles and son of the late Malcolm Blake Miles and Dorothy Marie Pring Miles.  He attended Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, retired from Timken as a manager after 40 plus years, and was a member of Grassy Pond Baptist Church. He loved his Church and served on numerous committees. Dick loved his family, volunteered and served as a Board member with the Cherokee Creek Fire Department, was an avid golfer at Cherokee National Golf Course and an avid South Carolina Gamecock fan.

In addition to his wife, also surviving is a son, Bradley Miles (Allison) of Greer; four daughters, Karen Keith (John), Marsha Ward (David), both of Pauline, Ronna Whitman (Mike) of Cowpens and Carmen Cobb (Chris) of Blacksburg; a sister-in-law, Debbie Ellis of Gaffney; twelve grandchildren, Haley Keith, Jackson Keith (Maria), Georgia Keith, Ellie Jennings, Katherine Jennings, Jacob Miles, Lucas Miles, Dawson Whitman, Sawyer Whitman, Emily Whitman, Majer Whitman and Chrislen Cobb; a great-grandson, Jack Keith and three nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.

The family will receive friends from 2:30PM until 4:00PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Grassy Pond Baptist Church.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 4:00PM at the Church with Reverend Martin Hogg, Dr. Clyde Thomas and Reverend Mark Gregory officiating.  Interment will be in the Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery.
