Libby Franklin

Gaffney, SC - - Rebecca Elizabeth "Libby" Coyle Franklin, 70, of 3995 Corinth Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Roy Lee Franklin and daughter of Helen Parker Coyle of Gaffney and the late Odell Coyle. She attended Gaffney High School, was a homemaker, and a member of Abingdon Creek Baptist Church.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Jonathan Smiley of Gaffney; her caregiver and cousin, Angela Jackson (Curt) of Gaffney; aunt, Peggy Howell (Norman) of Gaffney; two grandchildren, Jarod and Haley.  In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by a son, Travis Smiley, a daughter, April Holcomb and two grandchildren, Zachary and Tyler.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in the Abingdon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jeff Parker and Reverend Alan Peeler officiating.  Interment will be in the Abingdon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, #100, Charlotte, NC 28207.

The family will be at their respective homes.
