Annette Bailey

Gaffney, SC - - Rachel Annette Grigsby Bailey, 84, of 139-A School Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Jamie B. "JB" Bailey Jr. for 54 years and the daughter of the late James Robert Grigsby and Charlotte Cogdill Grigsby. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and Cecil's Business College and enjoyed golf, reading, watching baseball and softball. She also volunteered for The Good News Club and enjoyed visiting shut-ins. Mrs. Bailey was retired from Hamrick's and Queen Janitorial and a member of Grassy Pond Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Nathaniel Ellis (Sandra), Bobby Ellis (Marcia) and Darren Grigsby (Regina), all of Gaffney; a daughter-in-law, Jane Ellis of Stuart, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by a son, Charles Ellis; a sister, Rebecca Ellis; and a brother, Jim Grigsby.

The family will receive friends from 2:00PM until 3:00PM on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Grassy Pond Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00PM in the church with Reverend Martin Hogg, Reverend Terry Lanford and Reverend Mark Gregory officiating. Interment will be in Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery.
