Patsy Barnhill Brown

November 4, 1944 - March 19, 2026

Gaffney, SC - - Patsy Barnhill Brown, 81, of Gaffney, passed away peacefully at her home on March 19, 2026.

Born in Charlotte, she was the wife of the late William O. "Fender" Brown and daughter of the late Joe Barnhill and Ruby Page Barnhill.  Patsy retired from Anderson County Elections and previously work with Cherokee County Elections.  She was a member of First Baptist Church and taught in the children's Sunday School Program for many years until her health no longer allowed her to do so.  She was an avid bridge player, and truly enjoyed the friendships throughout the years from these different clubs in which she played.

Surviving are a son, Dr. Bill Brown and wife, Catherine Ann, of Oak Ridge, NC; a daughter, Dr. Page Brown McCraw of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Madison McCraw (Alicia), Delaney Beeco (Jonathan), Jeb Brown (Olivia) and Smith Brown; and two great granddaughters, Nora McCraw and Ella McCraw.  Patsy is also survived by sisters Alice Tedder (Virgil), Linda Paxton (John) and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael McCraw, Sr., a brother, Joe Barnhill, Jr., and a sister Grace Barnhill Kelley.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Melanie Hayes, her husband Tyler, and son Owen for their kindness and the care they gave to Patsy.  They truly brought joy into her life.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Reverend Tommy Comer officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church, 200 N. Limestone Street, Gaffney, SC 29340.

The family will be at their respective homes.
