Monia Craig

Gaffney, SC - - Monia Yarborough Craig, 89, of 962 E. O'Neal Street, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Restorative Care.

Born in Cumberland, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John Yarborough and Fannie Catherine West Yarborough and the step-daughter of the late Ethel Yarborough and married to the late Robert Blanton and the wife of late Patrick Craig. She enjoyed gardening, enjoyed sharing vegetable with others, loved flowers and enjoyed cooking. She also enjoyed going to the beach, loved helping others and had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Craig was a retired LPN and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving is a son, David Blanton (Lois) of Gaffney; a brother, John Yarborough of Blacksburg; three sisters, Laronia Cohrs (Dell) of WV, Sylvia Flannery of Greer and Marilyn Skipper of NC; two grandchildren, Holly Rice (Mitch) and Scott Blanton (Sarah); four great-grandchildren, Kylee Rice, Landrey Rice, Scottie Lynn Blanton and Beau Blanton; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Wilkins and Margie Kelly; and a brother, Lonnie Yarborough.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Blakely Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating.
