Miriam Tajana

Gaffney, SC - - Miriam Rodi Tajana passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the age of 88. Predeceased by her parents, Giuseppe and Clelia Rodi, and her older brother, Cesare Rodi.

Born in Bergamo, Italy and a longtime resident of Como Italy, Miriam hailed Gaffney, South Carolina as home since 1989. A graduate of the Sorbonne University in Paris, Miriam taught French for a time before raising her family.

Miriam touched a great number of people throughout her life. With her generous heart and quick wit, she never failed to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. Miriam's warm smile and gracious ways were matched by her unwavering faith and recognizably vivid spirit.

A devout Catholic, Miriam was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Gaffney, South Carolina. For many years, she attended to the sacred linens and served as a Eucharistic minister. An additional deep devotion was to her Carmelite Order, where she was invested as a lay member.

Devotion to her family was Miriam's joy. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Franco Tajana; daughter Dr. Monica Tajana (Enrico Rizzoli) and grandson Federico Rizzoli of Cremona, Italy; son Carlo Tajana (Sarah) and granddaughters Leila, Annabella, and Sophia Tajana of Gaffney, South Carolina; special nephews and niece of Milan, Italy, Marco Rodi, Pietro Rodi, Sabina Rodi, and Luca Rodi.

Miriam was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held at Blakely Funeral Home from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on the evening of Friday, April 17,2026. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Gaffney.

The family will be at their respective homes.
