Michael “Mike” Kimsey

Cowpens, SC - - Michael Dean Kimsey, 80, of 151 Gentry Lane, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at his residence.

Born in Rutherfordton, NC, he was the husband of Faye Ruppe Kimsey and son of the late James Henry Kimsey and Hilda Harris Kimsey. He retired from ATS Mechanical, was a U. S. Army veteran, and a member of Valley Falls Baptist Church. He loved his family, fishing, working on cars, and was very mechanical.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael Kimsey of Cowpens and Joey Walker of Spartanburg; two daughters, Hilda Cobb and Teresa Dotson (Ernest), both of Cowpens; nine grandchildren, Harlie Walker, Paige Bowen, Mandi Walker, Holly Leaphart, Allen Kimsey, April Cobb, Kimberly Cantrell, Sage Kimsey and Elliott Kimsey; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Dunn and two brothers, Jimmy Kimsey and Dale Kimsey.

The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 1:00PM on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home.  Memorial services will follow at 1:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Tom Smith officiating.
