Martha Leazer

Gaffney, SC - - Martha Turner Leazer, 97, of 104 Duffers Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Cherokee Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late John Howard Leazer, Jr. and daughter of the late Hiram Turner and Louise Cook Turner.  She retired from the Cherokee County School District, a member of CHAPS, and a member of First Baptist Church in Gaffney.

Surviving is a son, Johnny Leazer (Dell) of Gaffney; a daughter, Marcia Leazer Ellis (Bobby) of Gaffney; a sister, Jane Owens of Texas; a brother-in-law, Randy Hammett of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Stephen Ellis (Beth), Kevin Ellis (Hannah), Laura Jo Cook (Larry), Rev. Michael Leazer (Brittany) and Alicia Caughman (Bo); thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Turner Hammett.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy Huddleston and Reverend Michael Leazer officiating.  Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the residence, 104 Duffers Drive, Gaffney.
