Louise Lancaster

Chesnee, SC - - Louise Lavender Lancaster, 83, of 140 Cecil Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Melvin John "Chief" Lancaster, Jr. and daughter of the late Willie C. Lavender and Carmie Lois Taylor Lavender.  She was a graduate of Chesnee High School, a retired seamstress, was formerly employed by Newark Electronics, and a member of Chesnee First Baptist Church.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved to sew.

Surviving is a son, Kevin Lancaster (Lauren) of Chesnee; a daughter, Lisa Anthony (Steve) of Inman; three sisters, Juanita Ramsey of Chesnee, Eula Luckadoo of North Carolina and Laverne Wilson of Texas; three grandchildren, Corey Anthony (Ashley), Anna Anthony and Austine Lancaster (fiancé Logan Cobb); three step-grandchildren, Noah Blackwell, Emma Blackwell and Liam Blackwell; three great-grandchildren, Ivy Anthony, Everett Anthony and Amara Cobb; one step-great granddaughter, Evelynn Blackwell; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Darwin and Frances Hammett, and a brother, Ernest Lavender.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Grogan and Reverend Chris White officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
