Lloyd "John" Gentry, Jr.

Cowpens, SC – Lloyd Edward "John" Gentry, Jr., 62, of 133 Gentry Lane, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Virginia Mobley Gentry and son of Verona Lowe Gentry of Cowpens and the late Lloyd Edward Gentry, Sr.  He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, attended Spartanburg Technical College, was employed by Freightliner in Mt. Holly, NC and a member of Love Springs Baptist Church.  He loved his family, playing the guitar, singing and was an avid golfer.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother is a son, John Dalton Gentry of the home; three daughters, Casey Gentry of the home, Loren Boggs (Geno) of Boiling Springs, SC and Misty Smith (Jody) of Gaffney; a brother, Tony Gentry (Charlene) of Gaffney; a sister, Betty Natzke (Danny) of Gaffney; two grandchildren, Isaac Lorr and Austin Lorr; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Love Springs Baptist Church.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00PM at the Church with Dr. Ron Culbertson officiating.  Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the residence, 133 Gentry Lane, Cowpens, SC 29330.
