Linda Mullinax
Gaffney, SC - - Linda Mullinax was welcomed into Heaven Sunday morning, July 14, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Cross Anchor, SC, she was the daughter of the late Irene Love and Joseph Parks, Sr. She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Parks Jr. Affectionately known as "Nannie", she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who lived a life characterized by service and deep commitment to her Heavenly Father, family, church, and all who knew her well.
Ms. Mullinax was the proud mother of Melody (Russ) Bradley, Ginger (Jeff) Lipscomb, Crystal Tyler (friend, Neal Murphy), and Ronald Porter; she considered her Sons-in-Law her children and had immense respect for them. Though she loved her children fiercely, her grandchildren Carli (Brett) Irvin and Claire (Michael) Hughey of Gaffney, Caroline (Nolan) Simpson, of Earl, NC, Drew (Chandler) Lipscomb of Boiling Springs, SC, Hunter (Rylie) Lipscomb, Savanna Lipscomb of Boiling Springs, SC, and Sarah, Kolby, Timothy, and Trey Rea of Gaffney, brought special blessings to her life. Additionally, her Shih-Poo, Domino (her Boy) was very dear to her. Each held a treasured place in her heart, and she found great joy in finding special ways to encourage them in their service to the Lord, their vocational pursuits, and to help take care of them and their families.
Her heart grew even fuller as each of her Great-Grandchildren entered her life. Knox, Emmarie, and Bryer (Carli and Brett) Irvin, Noah, Maggie and Palmer (Nolan and Caroline) Simpson, and Walt and Maggie (Drew and Chandler) Lipscomb were the delight of her heart. Nannie was intent on holding, loving and playing with each of them as often as she could. Always a baby-sitter in time of need, Linda would come bearing small gifts, snacks, and an assortment of items to entertain her babies. Whether it was throwing a football, playing with baby dolls or reading books, Nannie wanted to make sure that they knew how much she loved each of them.
Ms. Mullinax was retired from Liberty Life Insurance Company and she fully enjoyed serving her Lord and church family at New Hope Baptist Church in Earl, NC. Linda never met a stranger. An avid sports fan, she spent time visiting with church family members, bringing small treats and sharing her laughter and light-hearted spirit. It was this spirit that strengthened her ability to share the light of Christ with all she met.
Nothing pleased her more than a family gathering around the Sunday dinner table. She spent hours preparing the huge meal for her family and any friends who wanted to join, and it brought her great delight when everyone could be together. She was ready to make a space and get another plate for anyone who wanted to become part of the family.
In obedience to the command from Jesus to share the gospel, Linda was committed to do so until she met Jesus. Her greatest wish would be for all who knew her to know Christ. She lived the life of a child who loved her Heavenly Father, a mother who loved her children, a grandmother and great-grandmother who took delight in loving and serving each of them.
