Linda Annette Kite Vassey
December 5, 1940 – May 9, 2025

Linda Annette Kite Vassey, known lovingly as Ann, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025. She was born in Gaffney, South Carolina, on December 5, 1940, to Rufus Vestus Kite and Virginia Mayfield Kite.

Ann enjoyed a rich and full life in Union, SC, surrounded by friends and a caring community. She had a deep love for children and found great joy teaching in the kindergarten classroom at Foster Park Elementary. She was also known for her talent in baking, crafting beautiful and delicious wedding cakes, creative birthday cakes, and pies of every flavor.

Ann relocated to The Legacy of St. Johns, Florida, in March 2021. She dearly loved the wonderful staff and friends she made there. During her time there, she was known for her warm smile, comforting hugs, and deep love for her family.

Ann was loved and cherished by all who knew her — especially her late husband, Larry, and her children Kim Duval (Bill), Don (Joan), and Todd (Angie); her grandchildren Eric, Drew, Davin, Kaelin, Connor, Eli, Maddie, Kinsley, and Wes; and her great-grandchildren Dylan, Jackson, Tate, Henry, and Sutton. She also shared a special bond with her brother and his family — Mike and Shirley Kite, of Gaffney, SC.

Ann was deeply cherished for her kindness to all and her cheerful smile. She will be remembered always with love and gratitude.

A graveside service will be held at Fredrick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney, SC at 2pm on Wednesday May 28, 2025 with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends and family at Blakely Funeral Home from 1:00 to 1:45pm on Wednesday.
