Larry Raines

Gaffney, SC - - Larry Russell Raines, 77, of 461 Mike's Creek Road, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Renae Pettit Raines and the son of the late Eulan Raines and Edna Henson Raines. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, raising chickens and loved his family. Mr. Raines was retired from Musgrove Mills and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, also surviving are three sons, Larry Russell Raines Jr. (Debbie), Brian Raines and Phillip Raines, all of Gaffney; a daughter, Margie Rumfelt of Gaffney; three brothers, Rick Raines, Randy Raines, both of Gaffney and John Raines of Blacksburg; two sisters, Norma Jackson (Reggie) and Doris Kearse (Mike), all of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Aaron Rumfelt, Kelly Catoe (Bryan), John Rumfelt, Kaylee Viellenave (Joe) and Zac Raines; nine great-grandchildren, Shyla, Brilyn, Lorelei, Colton, Matthew, Blaine, Kyley, Paigelynn and Wyatte; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Raines was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Raines and Winford Raines; and three sisters, Betty Turner, Carolyn Turner and Eunice Kay Raines.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Osment officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
