Kenneth Vassey

Gaffney, SC - - Kenneth Jerome Vassey, 91, of 225 Gregory Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of the late Connie Long Vassey and son of the late John Albert Vassey and Ethel Coyle Vassey. He retired from Fashion Engravers, was a U. S. Navy veteran, and a member of West End Baptist Church. He loved his family and repairing small engines, and volunteered with Peach Centre Ministries.

Surviving are two sons, Kevin Vassey (Leslie) and Jason Vassey (Sherri), both of Gaffney; nine grandchildren, Tyler Vassey, Brianna Scoggins (Jordy), Grayson Vassey, Sloane McDonough (Kyle), Sydney Morris (Benji), Celeste Bohn, Jason Bohn (Elizabeth), Andrew Poole and Jamie Bamond (Josh); thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean Vassey and Wayne Vassey.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00AM on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services, with military honors, will immediately follow at 11:00AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael McCurry officiating. Interment in Oakland Cemetery will be private for the family.
