Ken Blackwell

Cowpens, SC - - Kenneth "Ken" Larry Blackwell, 71, of 3912 Old Georgia Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of Beverly Morris Blackwell, was first married to the late Elizabeth Wyatt Blackwell, and son of the late Forest Willard Blackwell and Mildred Dora Gilbert Blackwell.  He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, received his Associates degree from Cecil's Business College, and his Master's degree from Clemson University.  He retired from the Cherokee County School District and was the owner/operator of Double K Trailers, Karts & Parts.  He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, loved all children, and racing, especially go-kart racing.  He was a very active member of High Point Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, also surviving is a son, Kenneth Lee Blackwell (Brittany) of Gaffney; three daughters, Kelly Blackwell Ellis Stark (Jesse) of the home, Stephanie Turner of the home and Shannon Jillson (Matt) of Greer; a sister, Norma Barrera (Elio) of Cowpens; seven grandchildren who affectionately called him "Big Daddy", Taylor Ellis, Aaron Stark, Kasen Blackwell, Aubree Goode, Dallas Goode, Turner Jillson and Matthew Jillson, Jr. ; a nephew, Garret Goode; three nieces, Maria Ferreira, Marisa Barrera and Miranda Blackwell.  In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi L. Blackwell and a brother, Gary Goode.

The family will receive friends from 12:30PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at High Point Baptist Church.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00PM at the Church with Reverend Clifford Phillips officiating.  Interment will be in the High Point Baptist Church Cemetery.
