Obituary

Kathleen Huskey

Gaffney, SC - - Kathleen Lipscomb Huskey, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, with her loving children, James and Alice, by her side. Born on February 8, 1941, Kathleen lived a life defined by faith, compassion, service, and unconditional love for her family and community.

Kathleen was a lifelong and devoted member of Goucher Baptist Church, where she faithfully served the Lord throughout her life. Her faith was the cornerstone of who she was, and she dedicated countless hours to serving others and sharing the love and message of Jesus Christ. She participated in more mission trips than her family can count, always willing to go wherever she felt called to help others and spread God’s word.

Kathleen had a true servant’s heart. She was loving, generous, and selfless every day of her life, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her kindness touched everyone who knew her, and her gentle spirit will never be forgotten.

Above all else, Kathleen dearly loved her family. She is survived by her two children, Alice Martin Bratcher of Gaffney, South Carolina, and James Lipscomb Martin of Easley, South Carolina. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Brittney Martin Gentry (Josh), Kayla Shea Martin (Mike), Kirby Martin Revis, and Abigail Grace Bratcher (Eli).

She was also blessed with six cherished great-grandchildren: Anna-Ryleigh Kate Martin, Shyla Brooke Rumfelt, Emma-Leigh Kole Gentry, Brilyn Joanna Rumfelt, Lorelei Chelsea McNeill, and Joshua James Revis. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the greatest joys of her life, and she loved them immensely.

Though her family grieves her passing, they rejoice in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior whom she faithfully served all her life.

The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 1:00PM on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Goucher Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00PM at the Church with Dr. Wayne Brown and Reverend Robbie Stollger officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope of Life International at https://www.hopeoflifeintl.org.

Kathleen will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her faith, her servant’s heart, and the love she gave so freely to all.
