Judy Wilkie

Gaffney, SC - - Judy Hughey Wilkie, 82, of 842 Filter Plant Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday,  May 29, 2024 at Cherokee Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of the late Houston Wilkie and the daughter of the late Loyd Marvin Hughey and Lucille Oxford Hughey. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School, enjoyed working in her yard, loved to travel to the beach and loved the holidays with her family. She formerly worked at Hoechst Celanese and managed a laundromat and worked for Wilkie used cars. Mrs. Wilkie was a member of 4th Street Gospel Tabernacle, where she sang in the gospel group, Gospellers.

Surviving is a son, Terry Wilkie of the home; a brother, Jim Hughey (Corlis) of Gaffney; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Oakland Cemetery with Dr. Bruce Price officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Shriners Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC, 29605 or St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.

The family will be at their respective homes.
