John L. Humphrey, Jr.

Gaffney, SC - - John Leonard Humphrey, Jr., 77, of 201 Hampton Boulevard, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026 at his residence.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of the late Brenda Kaye Hannon Humphrey for 52 years and son of the late John Leonard Humphrey, Sr. and Lily Kate George Humphrey. He was a graduate of Chapman High School, Spartanburg Methodist College and Limestone College, a U. S. Coast Guard veteran, retired from Hamrick’s after 27 years of service, and of the Baptist faith. He loved his precious wife, Brenda Kaye, loved his fur-baby “Frankie”, and yardwork. John was an avid Gaffney Indians and Clemson Tiger fan.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews and special friends and caregivers, Tim & Donna Childers of Gaffney.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30PM on Thursday, September 10, 2026 in Frederick Memorial Gardens with Reverend Russ Bradley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
