John Loy Gray, Jr.

Gaffney, SC - - John Loy Gray, Jr. beloved son of the late John L Sr and Joan Duncan Gray passed away September 24, 2025 at his residence.

John was a graduate of Gaffney High School and graduated from the University of South Carolina where he earned his BA degree in Business Administration.

After graduation, John moved to Charlotte NC where he was an insurance adjuster. He lived in many states before returning to Gaffney and retired from Cooper Standard.

John loved working in his yard, antique shopping and raising parakeets and finches. He especially loved his Quaker Parrott Beau.

Left to cherish his memory is his sister Leslie Gray Wyatt and brother James, Jim Gray both of Columbia SC, a niece, Jennifer Gray Knox and husband Joe and a nephew, John R. Gray. Two great nephews and 3 great nieces. He was predeceased by his sister LeAnne and brother-in-law Steve Wyatt.

A private memorial service was held November 5, 2025 at Limestone Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lynn Miller officiating. He was placed in the church columbarium with his sister LeAnne.
