Joe Peeler

Gaffney, SC - - Joe Dean Peeler, 72, of 2336 Union Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was first married to the late Martha Sue Erwin Peeler, the husband of Sue Whelchel Peeler of the home, and son of the late Jimmie G. Peeler and Lula Durham Peeler. He retired from Timken and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He loved his family, working in the yard and riding tractors.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Daniel Peeler and Bradley Ramsey, both of Gaffney; a daughter, Darlene Blanton (Dirk) of Gaffney; a stepson, Roger Mayfield (Tina) of Gaffney; two brothers, Jimmy Peeler (Katie) of Glendale and Terry Peeler (Tina) of Pacolet; seven grandchildren, Brooklyn Cooper (Jonathan), Austin Peeler, Jessica Upton (Chase), Jon Hampton, Tyler Ramsey, Emma Peeler and Danica Deal (John); five great-grandchildren, Kobal Upton, Johnny Deal, Triston Ramsey, Tatum Ramsey and Maddie Ramsey; six step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tommy Wright and Reverend Richard Sellars officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
