Wayne Rogers

Cowpens, SC - - Jesse Wayne Rogers, 82, of 770 Battleground Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born in Converse, he was the loving husband of Barbara Deaton Rogers for 54 years and son of the late Jesse Rogers and Lousie Caldwell Rogers Melton. He enjoyed golfing, was an avid Clemson Tiger fan and had a great love for his family and his grandchildren.  Mr. Rogers was retired from Yellow Freight Trucking Company, a U. S. Army veteran, a member of the S. C. National Guard, and a member of Converse Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, also surviving are two sons, Kevin Wayne Rogers and Rodney Anderson Rogers (Gina), both of Cowpens; a brother, JW Rogers of Gaffney; two sisters, Shelby Rogers Henderson and Dennesia Melton Peterson, both of Gaffney; three grandchildren who affectionally called him Poppa, Sadie Rogers, Luke Rogers and Natalie Rogers; a great-grandson, Ace Pesaro; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Shriner's Children's Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Ron Culbertson and Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.

The family will be at the home of Rodney and Gina Rogers, 140 Rutledge Street, Cowpens.
