Jesse Massey

Cowpens, SC - - Jesse James Massey, 75, of 4717 Old Georgia Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Arthur Daniel Massey and Marie Harris Massey.  He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, the owner/operator of M & J Millwright Company, a U. S. Army Veteran, and was of the Baptist faith.  He loved his family, hunting, fishing, playing golf and billiards.

He is survived by two daughters, Connie Gilfillan of the home and Michelle Massey of Cowpens; three grandchildren, Cameron Gilfillan (Summer), Zack Gilfillan (Kari) and Ethan Jones; a great-grandchild, Zander Gilfillan; numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Patricia Ann Fortner, Sue Pettit, Betty Davis, Doris Massey and Joyce Massey, and three brothers, Jimmy Massey, J. C. Massey and Clyde "Buck" Massey.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday May 20, 2024 at High Point Baptist Church.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the Church with Reverend Clifford Phillips officiating.  Interment, with military honors, will be in the High Point Baptist Church Cemetery.
