Janice Meeks

Gaffney, SC - - Janice Geraldine Meeks, 81, of 146 Catawba Road, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at her residence.

Born in Union Mills, NC, she was the daughter of the late Norris Thomas Meeks and Sallie Beulah Francis Meeks.  She retired from Yonkers Community Action Program in New York and truly loved her family.

Surviving is a son, Allen Barrett (fiancé Paula Brooks) of the home; a special son, Stephen Norton (Eve) of Forest City, NC; a special daughter, Deana Allen of Gaffney; two brothers, Weldon Meeks of Charlotte, NC and Robert Meeks (Judy) of Union Mills, NC; a sister, Peggy Meeks Neely (Jerry) of Charlotte, NC; a sister-in-law, Rose Meeks of Polk County, NC; a grandson, Emmanuel Williams; a great-son, Cayden Williams; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Spruill and Hazel Meeks, a brother, Leslie Meeks and a special daughter, Velvet Foster.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Blakely Funeral Home.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Phillip Forney officiating.  Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the residence, 146 Catawba Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.
