James Penley

Chesnee, SC - - James Mark Penley, 55, of 177 Adams Road, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024 at his residence.

Born in Fredericksburg, VA, he was the son of the late Eckle Gladey Penley and Loretta Joyce Bradley. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, an avid NASCAR fan, especially Davey Allison, loved his dogs and had a great love for his family and friends. Mr. Penley was a HVAC technician and was of the Baptist Faith.

Surviving are two daughters, Trina Bartram of Grandy, MN and Piper Penley of Chesnee; three brother, Matt Penley of Chesnee, Sam Penley and Eckle Penley, both of VA; two sisters, Jenny Elliott of VA and Charlotte Hunt of Bessemer City; five grandchildren, Edward Bergeron, Ariel Fromel, Elesha Fromel, Jaden Panama and Evan Bergeron; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chad & Tina Hutchins of Chesnee; sister-in-law, Rennie Butler of Blacksburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Penley was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Penley and a sister, Carey Penley.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Blakely Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 2:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rufus Johnson officiating. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.

The family will be at their respective homes.
