James "Moon" Terry

Gaffney, SC - - James Lewis "Moon" Terry, 85, of 3726 Union Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at his residence.

Born in Jonesville, he was the husband of the late Shirley Fowler Terry and son of the late Julius Reed Terry and Agnes Green Terry.  He retired from Timken, was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and volunteered with the Jerusalem Project.  He loved his family, fishing, beekeeping, enjoyed dirt track racing, and was very mechanical.

Surviving is a son, James Todd Terry (Penny) of Gaffney; a stepson, Andy Burns (Jane) of Spartanburg; three grandchildren, Joshua Luke Terry (Kendall), Danielle Edwards (Christopher) and Lindsay Horton (Mac); two great-grandchildren, James Horton and Margaret Horton. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, James Cody Terry, two brothers, Jerry "Buttercup" Terry and Johnny Terry, and five sisters, Frances House, Barbara Black, Margaret Inman, Marlene Spencer and Laura Wade.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Corinth Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the Church with Dr. Dwight Easler and Dr. Steven Owensby officiating. Interment will be in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
