Jack “Jackie” Smiley

Gaffney, SC - - Jack “Jackie” Douglas Smiley, 84, of 504 Garvin Lake Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Perry Lee Smiley and Martha Desaree Lester Smiley. He retired from Zimmer America Corporation, was a U. S. Navy veteran, and a member of Midway Baptist Church.

He is survived by Austin Maynor who he loved as a son, and his wife, Ashley, of Abbeville, (he considered Austin “his life”); Wyatt Maynor who he loved as a grandson; three brothers, Perry Smiley, Jr. (Linda) of Culpepper, VA, O. B. Smiley of Gaffney, and Eddie Smiley (Jean) of Pacolet; a sister, Katie Hoffman (Gene) of Chesnee; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Travis Smiley, Lamar Smiley, Mack Smiley and William Smiley, and three sisters, Connie Lee, Kathleen Phillips and Onie Moore.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Memorial services will immediately follow at 11:00AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Vernon Craig officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
