Freddie L. P. Carter

Gaffney, SC - - Freddie Parker Carter, 86, of 306 Overhill Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 5, 2024 at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Cecil Daniel Carter and daughter of the late Freeman Parker and Daisy Alexander Parker. She retired from Hamricks and was a member of Kirby Church.  She loved her family and church family, loved growing plants and flowers and "playing in the dirt".  She loved watching her preachers on television and the family wasn't allowed to visit until the preachers went off.  Freddie also had a card ministry and sent cards to all of her friends and family.

She is survived by a son, Jeffrey Scott Carter (Rhonda) of Belmont, NC; two daughters, Becky Coyle (Dean) and Sheila C. Pennington, both of Gaffney; two sisters, Martha Parker and Carol Parker, both of Gaffney; twelve grandchildren, Cindy Burchill, Connie Lanning, Erica Spencer, Kelli Worley, Lauren Grace Mitchell, Madison Kate Carter, Melanie Carter, Michael Carter, Sam Carter, Mitchel Carter, David Carter and Melissa Carter; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Ricky Daniel Carter, Cecil David Carter and Michael Carter, a brother, Kenneth Parker, and two sisters, Frances Parker and Diane Griffin.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Blakely Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2024 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Will Vergara and Reverend Steve Brumley officiating.  Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
