Ernie Owens

Gaffney, SC - - Ernie James Owens, 44, of 927 of South Green River Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 16, 2026.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of Crystal “Chrissy” Mace Owens and son of Pamela Greene Owens of Cowpens and the late Charles “Brother” Lawson Owens. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, enjoyed the outdoors, camping, carpentry, ATV riding, bonfires and music. He was a very hard worker and had a great love for his family. Mr. Owens was retired from The Board of Public Works and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and visited North Point Church of Gaffney.

In addition to his wife and mother, also surviving are two daughters, Katlyn Michelle Blackwell (Joshua) and Mackenzie Owens Martin (Noah), both of Gaffney; a brother, Marvin Brian Owens of Gaffney; a grandson, Hudson James Martin; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ernest Marvin “Bud” Greene and Lois Spencer Greene; paternal grandparents, Charles Howard Owens and Betty Carolyn Owens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jack Phillips and Dr. Terry Duvall officiating.
