Ernest Harris Sr.

Pacolet, SC - - Ernest Edward Harris Sr., 93, of 538 Asbury Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Johnnie Angeta Foster Harris and the son of the late Clem Andrew Harris and Annie Mae Fowler Harris. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and South Carolina National Guard Veteran, volunteered for Ashbury-Rehoboth VFD for over 20 years, enjoyed hunting and fishing, a Mason, loved to travel, especially to the beach and mountains and loved spending time with his family. Mr. Harris was retired from textiles and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, also surviving are two sons, Brian Harris and Mark Harris, both of the home; a daughter, Cathy Harris Eagle (Sam) of Pacolet; a sister, Velma Harris Medley of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Kristen Harris, Kayla Harris and Brandon Eagle; four great-grandchildren, Mikaela Harris, Alainna Hughes, Raylyn Harris and Kyla Harris; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Edward “Eddie” Harris Jr.; a grandson, Johnny Eagle; three sisters, Mary Mathis, Elsie Fowler and Dorothy Sanders; six brothers, Graydon Harris, Andrew Harris, Sam Harris, C.A. Harris, Quitmer Harris and Billy D. Harris.

The family will receive friends from 3:00PM until 4:00PM on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Asbury United Methodist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4:00PM at the church with Brother Brandon Eagle officiating. Interment will be in Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.
