Eltice Guest

Sumter, SC - - Eltice Elizabeth Guest, 81, of 2790 Bryant Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Prisma Health Toumey Hospital in Sumter.

Born in Cherokee County on July 22, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Jonah B. and Jeanette Hammett Guest.  She graduated from Gaffney High School Class of 1962 and continued her education obtaining a B.A. degree from Limestone College and a Master's Degree from the University of South Carolina.  Ms. Guest spent 29 years in education employed by the Sumter School District #17, teaching in middle school.

For many years she faithfully served as pianist for her church and the choir.  She loved serving the Lord and gospel music, and was an avid NASCAR, Atlanta Braves and South Carolina Gamecock fan.

Surviving is one brother Carol J. Guest of Forest City, NC.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul D. Guest, a nephew, Ronnie D. Guest, and sister-in-law Shirley Guest.

Instrumental in her care were doctors and friends and especially members of Covenant Bible Church.

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home.  Memorial services will immediately follow at 2:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Tuggle officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

The family will be at their respective homes.
