Obituary

Dennis Rostenbach

Gaffney, SC - - Dennis D. Rostenbach, 61, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2025. He was surrounded by family and friends.

Dennis was born in Davenport, Iowa to the late Barbara (Troxel) and Kenneth Rostenbach and was raised mostly in Hillsboro, Iowa. He joined the U. S. Army Reserves while in high school and graduated from Harmony Community School in Farmington, Iowa.

From an early age, Dennis always had a passion for cars; especially Hot Rods. He enlisted in the Marine Corps during Desert Storm (1982-1992) and his training was in vehicle mechanics and vehicle recovery. After he was discharged, Dennis continued his career working at various trucking companies in various states. His career path led him to Gaffney, SC, working at Daimler Trucks, Inc. He was a Dealers Operation Advisor and Product Litigation Administrator. When he was not working, he could be found in his shop, Rooster's Rod Shop. It was his passion to work on a vehicle from start to finish, interior to exterior. His work on hot rods was his signature and placed him in several magazines, on television shows, and won him several awards. He was very proud of his work and loved restoring classic cars into drivable works of art.

Dennis married Gina in 1995 in Cherokee, Iowa. To this wonderful union, they had two children, Brandon and Nicole Rostenbach. Dennis was so very proud of his children. He was always teaching them different skills in the shop. He loved teaching them tricks of the trade.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Gina, his son, Brandon, and his daughter, Nicole; his father, Kenneth, and his step-mother, Virginia Rostenbach; his siblings, Darrell (Coleen) McKittrick, Sherri McKittrick, Cindi (Brian White) McKittrick, Malissa (Jerry) Kraklow, all of Davenport, Iowa. His aunt, Dee Krum, and her two sons, Bobby and Joe Krum. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Bennett, his sister, Patricia Agnew, his uncle Roy Krum, and two aunts, Velvet Krum and Parthenia (Brian) Ehlers.

Gina and her family would like to acknowledge a special group of friends who have continuously supported Dennis and the family. Also, a special thank you to Dave Hoover and Joe McKowen for all their support and Maranda Bolin, his caregiver, who became part of the family.
