Deborah "Deb" Black

Gaffney, SC - - Deborah Jean Mathis Black, 68, of 1377 Chesnee Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Earl Black and daughter of the late Douglas Eugene Mathis and Allene Phillips Mathis.  She was employed by Cracker Barrel and of the Baptist faith.  She loved her family, her fur-baby "Missie", baking, traveling and her work.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a nephew loved as a child, Douglas Mathis of Gaffney; a niece loved as a child, Leanne Gibson (Johnny) of Gaffney; a niece, Miranda Mathis of Gaffney; two brothers, Randy Mathis and Danny Mathis, both of Gaffney.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Blakely Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.

The family will be at their respective homes.
