Obituary

Dwayne Humphries

Gaffney, SC - - David Dwayne Humphries, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away on May 26, 2025.

He was born in Shelby, North Carolina, and a resident of Gaffney, SC.   Dwayne was preceded in death by his father, David Humphries.  He shared a beautiful, unwavering bond with his mother, Wanda Angel, whose love remained a constant source of strength in his life.

Dwayne was a devoted husband to Ellen Humphries and a loving, dedicated father to his daughter, Brooke Humphries, who was his whole world.  He was also a wonderful stepfather to Layla and Hannah Ross.  He found great joy in his role as a brother to Phillip Humphries and his wife, Robin, and step-brother Jason Humphries and his wife, Nicole, as well as an uncle to Leah Humphries and Tyler Humphries, and three great-nephews, and his cousin Stevie Humphries shared countless adventures with him.

A proud and decorated U. S. Navy veteran, Dwayne carried the same honor, courage, and dedication he demonstrated in service into every aspect of his life.  His laughter was infectious, his presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew him, and his generous heart made him a steadfast source of strength for his loved ones.

Dwayne had a deep love for dirt bikes, dirt track racing, and the outdoors, finding peace in the beauty of nature.  His life motto, "There is always a way," reflected his resilience, determination, and boundless optimism – an outlook that inspired everyone around him.  His energy and readiness to embrace each day will never be forgotten.

The world lost a treasure with Dwayne's passing, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
