Cladie Cooksey

Gaffney, SC - - Cladie Phillips Cooksey, 94, a longtime Draytonville Community resident, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2024.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late James P. Cooksey and daughter of the late Hyder Phillips and Martha Owensby Phillips.  She retired from Oxford Industries, volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 20 years, and was a member of Draytonville Baptist Church where she formerly served as a greeter and was a member of the Jennie Gaffney Circle.

She is survived by a son, James Cooksey, granddaughter, Jennifer Kierzek and four great-granddaughters in Michigan.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Earl "Jack" Cleveland Cooksey and seven brothers and sisters.

Cryptside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 17, 2024 in the Clingman Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Dr. Keith Harrill officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.
