Charlotte Parker

Gaffney, SC - - Charlotte Pennington Parker, 73, of 2746 Wilkinsville Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of James H. Parker and the daughter of the late Grover Pennington Jr. and Estelle Lanier Cobb and step-daughter of the late Dave Cobb. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and was a former volunteer firefighter for DMW and Corinth. Mrs. Parker was retired from Cherokee County Detention Center and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, also surviving is a daughter, Pam Sexton of Blacksburg; a brother, Louis Pennington (Joyce) of Blacksburg; two grandchildren, Payton Wright (Hunter) and Brooklyn Roberts; a great-granddaughter, Belle Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by a son, Brian McAbee; three sisters; and two brothers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 3:30PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ray St. John officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery.
